OGLE-II High Proper Motion Stars towards the Galactic centre
The photometry data base of the second phase of the OGLE microlensing experiment, OGLE-II, is a rich source of information about the kinematics and structure of the Galaxy. In this work we use the OGLE-II proper motion catalogue to identify candidate stars which have high proper motions. 521 stars with proper motion μ > 50 mas yr in the OGLE-II proper motion catalogue (Sumi et al. 2004) were cr...
متن کاملOn the Crab Proper Motion
Owing to the dramatic evolution of telescopes as well as optical detectors in the last 20 yrs, we are now able to measure anew the proper motion of the Crab pulsar, after the classical result of Wyckoff and Murray (1977) in a time span 40 times shorter. The proper motion is aligned with the axis of symmetry of the inner Crab nebula and, presumably, with the pulsar spin axis.
متن کاملProper Motion Studies of Outflows from Classical T Tauri Stars
In a previous paper (McGroarty & Ray, 2004) we examined the environment of a number of evolved low -mass young stars, i.e. Classical T Tauri Stars, to see if they are capable of driving parsec scale outflows. These stars CW Tau, DG Tau, DO Tau, HV Tau C and RW Aur were previously known to drive only “micro jets” or small scale outflows of ≤ 1′ or 0.04 pc at the distance of the Taurus Auriga Clo...
متن کاملCompleteness of USNO-B for High Proper-Motion Stars
I test the completeness of USNO-B detections of high proper-motion (μ > 180mas yr) stars and the accuracy of its measurements by comparing them to the revised NLTT (rNLTT) catalog of Salim & Gould. For 14.5 < V < 18.5, only 6% of such stars are missing from USNO-B while another 4% have large errors, mostly too large to be useful. Including both classes, incompleteness is 10%. These fractions ri...
متن کاملThe Liverpool-Edinburgh High Proper Motion Survey
We present a catalogue of 6206 stars which have proper motions exceeding 0.18yr with an R-band faint magnitude limit of 19·5mag. This catalogue has been produced using SuperCOSMOS digitized R-Band ESO and UK Schmidt Plates in 131 Schmidt fields covering more than 3,000 square degrees (>7·5% of the whole sky) at the South Galactic Cap. The survey is ≥90% complete within the nominal limits of the...
